Hanacho Studio tags its creation “Sophisticated Minimalism Androgynous Erotic.” A maxim that speaks to Hanacho Studio’s desire to refine design aesthetics through the blend of simplicity and complexity with contrast and balance from deep existing research conducted by the designer and brand studio director Hana Cha. The brand is an international womenswear label with headquarters in Korea.
The brand does not go out of its way to create overly sophisticated designs, instead, they are more interested in a minimalism and simplification process where artwork and textiles are blended with a metal fringe decoration that informs the brand’s signature creation. In the creation of their apparel, they go for practical clothes with a touch of designer’s philosophy.
For Hanacho Studio, it isn’t just about fashion. The brand has expanded its ambit to include the idea of a “Studio” where the brand showcase different clothes that display the designer’s philosophy. The Brand recently presented fashion theory, fashion art, and installation work all of which are part of the concept of “Studio” to the international stage in Seoul, Beijing, Tokyo, London, and Paris. Hanacho Studio utilises their extensive practices to continue its deep research to discover new inspiration for the brand.
The continued research through studio activities is in line with the studio director’s plans to constantly create clothes born through a blend of deep research and artistic approach. Here is a brand that wears many hats in a bid to serve its consumers; each activity of studio director Hana Cha’s has a creative implication for the brand so that nothing is lost in the ether.
Hana Cha was the first Asian to graduate from the London College of Fashion and was awarded an excellent doctoral dissertation at the Korean Society of Costumes. She began her fashion business after graduating from college in 2012.
